The UEFA Euro 2020 is living up to its expectations with thrilling moments from all national teams with the most recent being the turn of events in Group F where Portugal and Germany face each other.
Yesterday, France were held to a draw by underdogs, Hungary and that result means Portugal have been handed a chance to extend their lead at the top of the group table if they come out victorious against Germany national team.
Cristiano Ronaldo was able to put Portugal in front after a beautifully finished counterattack which was his third fantastic goal of the tournament. Cristiano Ronaldo did something spectacular in the buildup to the goal as he was in his side’s 18-yard box when Germany were awarded the corner kick.
After helping his team clear the ball from their 18-yard box, he sprinted within seconds to the other side of the pitch where he finished off a beautiful counterattack to put his team in front.
According to ESPN, it took him 15 seconds to sprint from his team’s side of the pitch to the other end where he positioned himself in a comfortable position and scored the goal for Portugal.
He’s 36 years old but he doesn’t look like old man anytime soon as he sprints only when necessary due to the fact that he isn’t the same player he was few years ago.
He has a well-organised and talented team by his side which the commentator acknowledged when he said this could possibly be the most talented Portuguese national team Cristiano Ronaldo have played with in his career.
